Total Synergy pricing is available on request only. Its plans page lists Business and Enterprise without prices, plus five add-ons. Ask for a quote covering your staff numbers, chosen plan and any modules you need.
That is the short answer. The trouble is that the real number for your practice depends on how many add-ons you need, and you only find that out in a sales conversation. “Total synergy pricing” is one of the most searched questions about the product for exactly that reason.
This guide sets out what to include in a Total Synergy quote and Drum’s published subscription costs for 10, 25 and 50 staff. Full disclosure: we build Drum, a competing platform for Australian architecture and engineering firms. You need a current Total Synergy quote to compare the costs.
| Total Synergy | Drum | |
|---|---|---|
| Published pricing | No, quote on request | Yes, $225 AUD/month for 5 seats, then $45/seat |
| Plans | Business, Enterprise | Complete; Enterprise for advanced controls and tailored services |
| CRM and pipeline | Synergy CRM add-on | Included |
| Leave and staff availability | Synergy HR add-on | Included |
| Advanced dashboards | Analytics Plus add-on | Included |
| Document and email management | Synergy PIM add-on | Emails, documents and notes logged on each project (no transmittals) |
| Accounting integration | Two-way Xero and MYOB; QuickBooks Online also supported | Two-way Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks |

How Total Synergy Pricing Works
Why is it so hard to get a straight number? Because Total Synergy sells a base plan plus modules, and the price lives in a quote.
Two plans, no published prices. The plans page describes Business as “perfect for small to mid-sized A&E firms” and includes project phases, budgets, profitability analysis, document transmittals and revenue and capacity forecasting. Enterprise adds resource planning, advanced forecasting, custom dashboards, premium support and higher API limits. Every “Get Started” button leads to a demo booking rather than a price.
Get a current quote. Total Synergy pricing is available on request only, for both the base subscription and add-ons. Ask for a written breakdown that identifies the plan, number of licences, included features and any extra fees before you set a budget.
The add-ons. Five modules sit outside both plans: Analytics Plus (advanced dashboards and reports), Premium API, Synergy PIM (project documents and emails), Synergy HR (availability, skills and leave) and Synergy CRM (clients, leads and opportunities). None has a published price. A practice that wants a sales pipeline, leave tracking and better reporting needs three of the five.
Perceived cost is high. Reviewers on G2 rate Total Synergy’s perceived cost at the top of its five-dollar-sign scale, and estimate about one month to implement. Its overall rating is a solid 4.4 out of 5 on both G2 and Capterra.
So the base licence is only the opening line of the quote. The next question is what that adds up to for a practice your size.
Comparing Quotes for 10, 25 and 50 Staff
Total Synergy pricing is available on request at each of these firm sizes. For a reference point, Drum’s Complete plan is $225 AUD a month for your first five seats, then $45 per extra seat. The Drum figures below exclude GST, onboarding and any custom Enterprise services or controls.
| Practice size | Total Synergy Business | Total Synergy Enterprise | Add-ons (CRM, HR, Analytics Plus, PIM) | Drum Complete |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 staff | Price on request | Price on request | Price on request | $450/month |
| 25 staff | Price on request | Price on request | Price on request | $1,125/month |
| 50 staff | Price on request | Price on request | Price on request | $2,250/month |
Drum figures are from its published price list, October 2026. Request a Total Synergy quote for the same headcount and requirements before comparing totals.
Compare the full scope of each quote. Total Synergy’s plans page lists CRM, HR and Analytics Plus as add-ons, so ask for those lines if you need them. Check the subscription, onboarding and any advanced requirements with Drum too. Without a current Total Synergy quote, we can’t tell you which option will cost less for your practice.

A practical comparison. Picture a 20-person engineering practice that wants a sales pipeline, leave management and better dashboards. Ask Total Synergy to quote the base plan plus Synergy CRM, Synergy HR and Analytics Plus for those 20 staff. Drum Complete costs $900 AUD a month for 20 seats, with onboarding priced separately. Compare the full first-year costs once both vendors have confirmed the required features and fees.
The costs no table shows. Implementation time matters as much as the licence. Reviewers describe a “huge learning curve and incredibly complex system”, and some report trouble syncing with MYOB. Every week your team spends learning the system or patching reports is a cost the subscription doesn’t show. Drum firms are typically live within 14 days, with setup and data migration handled by our team.
What to ask for in a Total Synergy quote. Get these in writing before you sign:
- The per-user price for Business and Enterprise at your headcount.
- A price for each add-on you need, and whether it is per user or per practice.
- Any one-off implementation, training and data migration fees.
- The contract term, and what happens to the price at renewal.
- Whether part-time staff and contractors need a full licence.
- The cost of a full data export if you leave.
Ask Drum the same six questions. A fair comparison uses the same list for every vendor.
Who Total Synergy Suits, and When to Look Elsewhere
Total Synergy suits larger practices with an operations lead. If you have someone who enjoys configuring software, need document control inside your practice system, and the add-on costs fit your budget, it is a capable, AEC-specific product. Plenty of larger firms run on it successfully.
It suits firms that need Synergy PIM. Drum logs emails, documents and notes against each project, but it isn’t a full document control system with transmittals. If that is central to how you work, factor it in honestly.
Compare alternatives when the add-ons stack up. If you’re a 10 to 50 person practice paying for CRM, HR and reporting modules on top of the base plan, or your team avoids the system because it feels heavy, compare the full cost and workflow with another platform. Our Total Synergy alternative guide covers those differences in detail.
One engineering consultancy director put the switch this way: “Drum has become our single source of information for project scheduling, tracking, QA and correspondence. We used to use multiple platforms across our engineering, drafting and administration teams but now all staff use Drum.”
If you’re comparing several vendors at once, our Projectworks pricing and Abtrac pricing breakdowns use the same 10, 25 and 50 seat format, and the Drum pricing page shows every line of ours.
Is Total Synergy Worth the Price?
Total Synergy is a mature, AEC-specific platform with good service and a strong rating. Its pricing is the hard part: no published numbers, a base plan that leaves out CRM, HR and advanced reporting, and a quote you only see after a demo.
If you already run it well, the price may be fair for what you get. If you’re paying for add-ons that a modern platform includes as standard, run the numbers on the full quote, not the base licence. Whatever you choose, get every line of Total Synergy pricing in writing before you commit.
